Banana Island Multicultural Festival Concludes with Vibrant Splendor

The upscale Banana Island in Lagos came alive on Saturday with the grand third edition of the Banana Island Multicultural Festival, themed ‘Global Rhythm In One Island

This carnival-like celebration drew attendees from diverse cultural backgrounds and diplomatic representations spanning Africa, Asia, and Europe.

The festival showcased an array of cultural expressions including:

-Cultural Attires: Participants donned traditional outfits from countries like South Korea, Egypt, and Indonesia.

Visitors savored foods from South Korea, Egypt, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Turkey, Belgium, and more.

Music & Dance  Performances highlighted global rhythms, including a notable Korean musical act.

Vendors displayed cultural attire, handbags, drinks, and Nigerian delicacies.

Habiba Sharon Yakubu  (South Korean Cultural Centre): Lauded the festival’s success in fostering cultural ties, highlighting Nigeria-South Korea exchanges.

“The whole event has been awesome. You can see a lot of people displaying their cultural attires, dance and food which helps to cement cultural relationship between people from different geopolitical zones and continents.

” And we at the South Korean Embassy are happy to be involved with the festival because Nigeria and South Korea have a lot of cultural exchange programmes and this is one of them”, she stressed 

Kayode Bamgbose (Banana Island resident): Expressed fascination with Korean culture; advocated for more such festivals in Nigeria for cross-cultural appreciation.
