Rilwan Abdulafeez Defeat Samuel Moses To Win HBE Title
President , Nigeria boxing board of control (NBB of C) has commended boxers for their performance at Naija rumble in the Hood season three bout decided during the week in Lagos
The one day tournament was sanctioned by the NBB of C
Rilwan Abdulafeez defeated Samuel Moses via a technical knockout to win the Heritage Boxing Entertainment lightweight title which was the main event of the ‘Rumble in the Hood’ fight night decided at the Igando Alimosho Field in Lagos State.
Abdulafeez came into the fight with a record of four wins and one loss and was confident of a win against Moses who had a record of four wins and seven losses and currently on a three-fight losing streak suffered knockout blows in the last two.
In the other fights of the night, Hamed Qudus lost to Toheeb Adeniran in a four rounds featherweight clash. Hamed who made his pro debut in October 2023 with an unanimous decision win over Azeez Yekeni could not get his second victory in the pros
In the Bantamweight clash Babatunde Oni out punched Taofeek Ganiyu, Idris Hamza dismissed Onetufo in the middleweight bout
In another Middleweight clash Buhari Habeed was declared the winner without throwing a single punch as his opponent
Adebayo Okenla was absent
Akintunde Abolade lost to Imole Oyelede in the Super-lightweight contest, Obizulike Elisha beat Emmanuel Francis to triumph in the Lightweight challenge
Boxing promoter , Qudus Adeshina says the talents are abound in the country but lacks the necessary support and encouragement to get to an appreciable level
He said there is need for corporate bodies to team up with the NBB of C to make professional boxing better in the land
