All Set For Santa Claus Ride In Lagos

Arrangements are on by FT cycle care cycling Club for a successful hosting of this year’s Christmas Santa Claus 24-hour ride in the centre of excellence

Board member Nigeria cycling federation, Femi Thomas said The Fun Ride is for all Comers, which debuted last year, is part of activities of the year by the nigeria cycling federation to bring all cycling enthusiasts, states Team , clubs, young and old  physically and mentally fit 

” The Santa Claus ride will serve as preparations for the West African tour coming up next year. We are using this medium to call on well meaning individuals and corporate bodies to key into this project with their support and encouragement ” He said 

In readiness for the 2024 edition, 50 cyclists took part in an epic ride from Lagos to Ibadan, covering a total distance of 240 km

The event was organized to promote mental health awareness in preparation for the upcoming 24-hour Christmas Santa Claus Non-Stop Ride, scheduled for December 24-25, 2024

This event will also be used to celebrate FT Cycle Care’s 10th anniversary and kick off the Tour d’Afrique sponsorship campaigns, which will involve cycling  from Nigeria to Accra, Ghana, and back in March 2025.

Cyclists from Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo states participated 

as part of activities to Herald the Santa Claus ride a MTB and BMX challenge was organized during the week by FT CYCLE CARE  tagged a decade of elevating cycling in Africa and giving back to the community.

The programme, which was for young cyclists provided  competition for children, rewarding their efforts with school materials to support their education, promoting youth empowerment, and education the youth by saying no to Drug and staying away from any criminal activities.

Femi Thomas who doubles as the chairman of Ogun state cycling association has called for more corporate support to aid the growth of cycling in the country

Captain ft cycle Francis agbo who has won most of the national cycling tournament speaks on why he is yet to claim continental glory 

” Nigeria has talented athletes but the challenge is having the right bicycles and good welfare packges for cyclists. All we need is support because we have what it takes to rule the world ” He said
