All Set For 33rd NIOB Conference in Lagos

Lagos state chapter, ahead if its conference with the theme BREAKING BARRIERS AND EMPOWERING CHANGE IN NIGERIA’S REAL ESTATE SECTOR, PROCESS AND CONTROL

The meeting will provide opportunities for valued stakeholders and industry experts in built environment to discuss and review important ideas, sharing knowledge about Real Estate Sector in Nigeria. 

The 33rd Lagos Builders’ Conference 2024 is designed to not just educate the participants but also to give a safe and sustainable direction to the government both at State and Federal level.

Chairman, Nigeria Institute of building (NIOB) Lagos State chapter, Thomas adeoye said a building could be safe for a short time but engaging professionals would help it last longer.

“All stakeholders in the construction value chain including manufacturers, the professional builders, artisans, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), among others, must begin self assessment on doing things right.” He said 

The 33rd Annual General Meeting is an opportunity to deliberate on Planning and Research, Stakeholder engagement and sensitization, Market research and analysis, identify barriers and challenges and then develop strategic plan and roadmap through which a rich communique beneficial to the stakeholders, policy makers, captains of industries and our members will be developed in order to provide professional excellence and leadership to empower change in Nigeria’s real estate sector. 

The conference which has the full backing of the Lagos State Government will run from October 16th to 17th at the podium Lekki

 Lagos. 

Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu is the chief host with top government functionaries and royal fathers expected to grace the occassion 

The 33rd Lagos Builders’ Conference would be a means to sensitize the participants and the public in the danger of not engaging registered Builders and other built environment professionals

The Nigerian Institute of Building is the professional body for Builders and those who are about to be engaged in the Building Profession. 

The Institute has its origin in a parent body called the Builders’ Society, which was formed in 1834 by a number of prominent Builders in London. 

This body was renamed the Institute of Builders in 1884. Then in 1965, the name was changed to Instutue of Building (IOB). As the organisation gained royal charter, it was renamed “The Chartered Institute of Building” (CIOB) in 1980.
