Ademola Ajuwon Celebrates 60th Birthday with Table Tennis Championship
The table tennis section of Ikoyi club have continued to explore all avenues to not only keep members physically and a mentally fit but also help promote the sport in the country
The section has organised series of programmes this year under the chairmanship of Dare Olude
” The section prides itself in organizing championships every month. We not only engage our members but also use this monthly tournaments to keep alive the table tennis culture in Nigeria
The let’s play table tennis championship was concluded During the week with over 20 players compete for honours
The championship was to celebrate Ademola Ajuwon’s 60th Birthday and his contribution towards the growth of the game in Nigeria
” I thank God for adding another year to me . What other way to celebrate the Lord’s goodness in my life than to give back with the hosting of this tournament
I appreciate everyone who made today a success” he said
Former Lagos state governor Babatunde fashola was the the special guest of honour
In results of games played In the Men’s singles Premiership Tunde Fadare retained the title
Segun shitta wontge Men’s singles title championship , Chinwe Igwe continued her dominance of the ladies singles category , Adeyinka Adeyemi won the Veterans singles event
The pair of Femi George and Adeyinka Adeyemi triumphed in the Men’s Doubles category while the septuganarian veterans championship title Went to Gbolahan Okuneye.
Winners got medals , trophy ,cash rewards and gift items for their efforts
