All Set For Magic Tour Of Lagos Cycling Championship

Participants for the magic tour of Lagos cycling championship tagged final destination will on Sunday April 22nd take part in a test race for familiarization and smooth organisation for the 8 year old event which is on the calendar of the Lagos state cycling association 

The cyclist who have been undergoing training in readiness for the tournament will on Sunday also show how well they have mastered riding a bicycle 

The training which holds every  Saturday at the TESLIM Balogun stadium surulere Lagos has seen  over 50 participants taken through the basics of riding a bicycle under the watchful eyes of the state cycling head coach lookmon oyebola 

One of the participant is 11 year old darasimi olowolafe who said he has been training hard for tournament . Darasimi  responded thus when asked if the bicycle he haa can help propel  victory for him at the championship 

”  No ! The bicycle I have is not good . I would love the Lagos state government to help get a quality bicycle for me to use so I can become a champion for lagoa state and nigeria one day . 

I love cycling it  keeps  me healthy and active and I know my passion for the sport will take me places in the future” .Darasimi said 

Coach Lagos state cycling association lukmon oyebola  assured that the the children are in high spirit ahead of the tournament billed for April 24th to 28th at isale eko, ajegunle and mafoluku  areas in the state 

He adds that  talented cyclists discovered from the championship will undergo further training in readiness of major competitions for the state 

” From the weekly trainings you can see the children exhibit so much enthusiasm for the sport and with the competition coming up they are more determined and happy to be part of it 

We have already started identifying talents who will go for further trainings to represent the state at series of major competions coming especially the national youth games in September ‘” 

Team lead , Saved City Incorporation, Ikechukwu Ikechukwu said the  essence of the competition is to elevate cycling for young people and create a locally conceptualised event for young people that can be replicated globally

” There is need to engage the kids meaningfully by  creating  a competition where children can actively participate in and catch them young for the future 

We are raising stars for Nigeria in cycling ” 

Mouth watering cash prizes awaits winner in competition which holds from 6pm to 8pm
