Bamitonia National Women’s Arm Wrestling Championship Ends In Lagos

The Nigeria Arm Wrestling Federation, held it’s 1st Bamitonia National Women’s Arm Wrestling Challenge.

The Arm  Wrestling Tournament commenced with the use of left hand to the right hand which is an international rule and standard. 

The tournament featured Five categories namely, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg and 80kg.

At the end of the competition, five athletes from the different categories emerged winners of both left and right hands.

Sponsor of the tournament Bamitonia Anthony said the essence was to encourage, enhance and select champions for the next coming edition of African games. 

” Nigeria has talented athletes in Arm wrestling .I had to bankroll this competition to encourage more female athletes to get involved and explore the enormous potentials in the sport. I am impressed with the level of enthusiasm displayed  by the participants, it  shows the future is bright for arm wrestling in Nigeria ” she said 

president Nigeria arm wrestling federation Samuel Jackson stated that Nigeria was ranked 3rd in Africa and the national competition would help popularize the sports in Nigeria.

“Selected athletes from this tournament will undergo further training to put them in a good stead ahead of the games billed for Ghana in a few weeks time ” he said 

The athletes were  encouraged and advised  to be disciplined and avoid any intake of hard drugs for energy
